Community Working Bees

Help keep our park beautiful

Community Working Bees are very important to keep our bush land safe in preparation for the fire season, maintain walking tracks, dams, prune and mulch common garden areas and perform any general maintenance in the park.

We live in a cooperative, this means that we are responsible for taking care of our common land.  Council will not take care of common areas like they do in town.  In order to keep our maintenance costs down we rely on volunteers to give some of their time so The Board doesn’t have to spend money on garden landscaping and maintenance services.

We have over 20 hectares of common parkland with three large dams and a reticulation system that needs to be maintained in line with the  Common Land Management Plan.

How you can help.

The Board organises 4 working bees a year and we appreciate any time you can spare,  even if it is only 1 hour, this can help contribute to the maintenance of the park.

Working Bee Dates are announced in the Newsletter

Get in touch with the Parkland & Bushland Board member to be allocated tasks that you can undertake at any time or turn up on the day, any help is appreciated.

The more we do ourselves the less we have to pay someone to do.

Skills & Tools Library

Not everyone wants to mow lawns or whipper snip.  We all have skills & tools and if you are interested in helping out, let us know, we would love to find ways to use the large pool of talent and Tools the residents in Hamilton Park have.

If you have equipment, tools or even a trailer that you would be willing to lend out to other residents, please let us know they are available and how to get in touch.
