The common ‘large’ skink of Hamilton Park, found in grassland and seen basking on rocky outcrops in gardens. Ants form a large component of their diet. Photo taken in Avoca Lane

This four-fingered skink is an inhabitant of leaf litter and rocky garden beds. Males display a red lateral flush which becomes brighter during their breeding season. Photo taken in Avoca Lane
