Fire Danger Period is
10 November 2025 to 1 May 2026
Fire Authorities have assessed Glenrowan and Hamilton Park as having a VERY HIGH bushfire risk.
Local residents and visitors should be prepared for fire and have a plan for when the Fire Danger Rating is SEVERE, EXTREME or CODE RED.

During the Fire Danger Period, you cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a written permit from CFA or a Municipal Fire Prevention Officer.
Lighting a fire in the open air without a permit is an offence, and can bring a penalty of over $21,600 and/or 12 months imprisonment.
If you are issued a permit, you are still required to register your burn with the Burn-Off Notification Line on 1800 668 511.
