THE BOARD

Management of our estate

Hamilton Park is a co-operative that manages the infrastructure and park lands of Hamilton Park Estate.

Annual General Meeting is held in October in the common area.

It consists of a Board of Directors elected annually by the lot holders. By agreements with our Board, the Rural City of Wangaratta (RCoW) collects refuse and contributes to road maintenance. Each lot holder pays rates to RCoW as assessed in Councils valuation of the property. Our Co-Operative owns water pumps, fire fighting equipment, tractors, mowers, and more.

All costs associated in running the Estate are managed by the Directors of The Board. General maintenance is organised by the Board and often carried out by “Working Bees” at which residents are encouraged to attend to help out.

The Board may ask people with special interests or expertise for help from time to time. This helps foster a feeling of community and results in our running costs being kept to a minimum while there are well maintained facilities for all to enjoy.

Doreen and I moved from Melbourne to Hamilton Park in 2015 as a tree change experience, where we enjoy gardening, walking in our parklands and exploring the nearby areas.

Outside of this we like to travel and spend time with family and friends.

I am an Electronics Engineer (semi-retired) and have a wide range of experience from product design, programming of systems and project management.

In joining the board of Hamilton Park I look forward to contributing to the sustainability of our unique community and environment.

Maintenance

I have lived in Hamilton Park for the last thirty years and have previously been a board member.  In my spare time I enjoy riding my motor bike, fishing and kayaking as well as spending time with my family.

I have worked as a construction/site manager in the building industry for the last forty years, this experience allows me to contribute to the improvements around Hamilton Park.

I have enjoyed the years that my family and I have had in Hamilton Park.

Retiring after a lifetime of both pushing a pencil & running a sheep & cattle farm, Jo & I moved from Crookwell to be closer to our son & his family should help be needed. Coming from north of the border our pronunciations & geographical knowledge need attention, but we’ve been overwhelmed by the “people of the park” in both generosity of spirit and assistance.
Having 1100 acres to run left little time for other activities, but now on 1 I look forward to opportunities that will help others by whatever talents I possess.

Myself and Anna made the move from Cobram to Hamilton Park in 2017 along with our three children Oscar, Jack and Mia. We soon realised after moving what a special place Hamilton Park is – native plants, bird life, walking tracks and without doubt, a sense of community. I work in the software industry and am lucky enough to work from home and get to enjoy looking out the window at the bushland and listening to the birds for most of the day. The area lends itself well to our family interests such as hiking, mountain bike riding, fishing and camping. I am relatively new to the board and I am encouraged by the foresight and ideas that the board members have in making Hamilton Park an even better place to live.

Ian and I moved from Melbourne five years ago choosing to live in Hamilton Park for its bush setting.

We now realise just what a unique community we live in with its wildlife, natural bushland and a rare opportunity to work with others to shape the community we want to live in. We enjoy the close proximity to family and friends, gardening, walking and travel. I grew up in Wangaratta and have lived in Melbourne, Oxley and Darwin.

I have spent 35 years working in various roles in education the highlight of which was working in the Northern Territory.  As I enjoy meeting people and have an opportunity to use my communication skills I’ve volunteered to manage and maintain the Share Register for the Hamilton Park Co-operative and develop a quarterly newsletter with Dianne Peacock.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding buying and selling I Hamilton Park please feel free to drop me an email.

Newsletter

Graeme and myself moved to Hamilton Park in October 2018 after spending 29 years in Yarram in South Gippsland. Having family close by was an incentive and the area with it’s beautiful walks and wildlife appealed to us.

I spent 16 years as a Library Officer in Yarram and am currently employed as a Casual Officer at Benalla Library.

I have taken on the role as Co –Editor of the Hamilton Park Newsletter and am enjoying communicating with the residents about this unique and friendly community that we are privileged to live in.

I encourage residents to contribute items, as we strive to make the newsletter an interesting insight into this great community.
